ABOUT

A Note from the Owner

Thank you for visiting Blossom!

My name is Annie Welensky, practicing clinician and owner of Blossom Pediatric Speech Therapy. It is my hope that this site will help aid you in making an important decision for your child.

I began my education at the University of Georgia earning a Bachelor of Science in Special Education.  After graduation, I taught in the Primary Program at the Joseph Sams School (Fayetteville, GA).  The Sams School specializes in helping children with a myriad of developmental disabilities from birth through 22 years of age.  During that time, I developed a desire to further specialize in speech-language pathology and continue my education.

I entered the University of South Carolina earning my Masters Degree in the field of Communication Disorders.

I am currently certified with the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and have experience providing care in skilled nursing, acute hospital, school, pediatric clinic, and home settings.  I have served both children and adults, utilizing evidence-based therapy approaches to enhance speech, language (receptive, expressive, and pragmatic), cognitive-linguistic, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), oral-motor, feeding, and swallowing function.

My passion is working with young children and infants in the home setting, where I am able to provide skilled therapy in the child’s natural environment.  I believe in offering onsite parent and caregiver training and in collaborating with other healthcare professionals in order to best serve each child.  At this time, my area of focus is with oral-motor, feeding, and swallowing difficulties.

In my free time, I enjoy visiting the beautiful North Bay coastline and exploring Marin’s countless walking trails with my husband, three children, and Puggle.
